Proud moment for Uncle Faleulu Seko & Aunty Salu – their daughter (insert in images below) had to palu the ava during the ceremony for the opening of our reunion. We were all proud of you Savelina. Also hats off to Uncle Faleulu for leading the preparations for our family to execute this successfully.
Nana’s siblings’ families were given different tasks throughout the event to host. The Tominiko familia (that’s our branch of the extended family tree) had to present the ava to our visiting families from overseas.
I’m thankful that I have been raised surrounded by elders who continue to teach, practice the ways or traditions of Fa’asamoa. Keeps me grounded in who I am.
