Auckland Libraries Pasifika 2012

I had the pleasure working with Auckland Libraries staff on their brochure for Pasifika 2012 events. There is plenty for the family to do. It all kicks off for the month of March. Plenty of time to check into your nearest library or you can keep up to date by following @Aucklnad_Libs via Twitter or find them on Facebook: Auckland Libraries.

It had been a long time since I set foot in a library – so the photo shoot with the beautiful Fa’alogo family was a long-awaited return. Memories. πŸ™‚

Thank you Elenoa Mo’a Sili-Mati (Libraries Advisor Community Cultures) for the opportunity to work with your team on this project. Had great fun, broke a sweat and learnt a lot from the experience.

  1. Looks like you had a great time. I would have loved to be there – particularly as I’m looking for books from the Pacific nations at the moment. In 2012, I’m undertaking a challenge to read and blog about a book from every country in the world (http://ayearofreadingtheworld.com/). I’ve had recommendations for books from readers all over the world, but so far have had almost no suggestions for the Pacific. If you can suggest any writers, books, storytellers or people to speak to I’d be really grateful.

    • I did! Wow you’ve clicked on the right blog! Is it any type of writing your after?

I would highly recommend it’s a big deal at the moment – Lani Wendt Young’s Telesa. I blogged about her book launch here in Auckland Dec, 2011. The Covenant’s Keeper is the first book of the Telesa trilogy. 2nd book due for release soon. Definitely a must read – Samoan based but of course it’s Pacific so you can add to your list to read.

Would poetry be on that list too? πŸ™‚
