Lani Wendt Young’s Telesa: The Covenant Keeper

What a FIERCE evening! I had the privilege of attending the book launch held in Auckland last night. Inspirational. Presented by AUT and The University of Auckland the celebrations of Lani’s book was HOT (yes Sefa I know the lack of air con added to the  mood lol) !

It was the show case of Pasifika creativity. Our fierce women were out in full force and none other but the lady of the hour herself was the most shy of them all. It was an honour to meet you Lani.

Centre stage belonged to the academics, the dancer, the poet, the singer, their stories and of course the novelist. All of them Pasifika women. Empowering.
The unfamiliar and familiar faces all became acquainted over their passion for Telesa, meet and greet with Lani and my favourite part of it all fotos – more so with Filoi Vaila’au (pictured above, siva presentation) who was every bit the epitome of a Telesa taupou.

I bought my copy of Telesa last night. I’ve only read the prologue but after putting together all the photos of the evening I  am sure to sit down and read with no distractions (fingers crossed).

After reading all the reviews online and last night’s launch I’m bracing myself for what awaits my imagination behind this fiery book cover. One thing is for sure the hunk of a body on the cover must belong to Daniel, the object of all rave and fiery affection from the women. LOL.

Thank you once again Lani for the invitation and I pray that you continue to share your talent with us all through your gift of words for many more years to come.

…a Faatoia fotos of the Auckland launch are available on Facebook: Lani Wendt Young’s Telesa: The Covenant Keeper album. Enjoy!
